Matt Brown has been a financial advisor with Mascagni Wealth Management since 1996. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration with Honors from Mississippi College, where he received several prestigious awards, including the top academic award from the School of Business, The Wall Street Journal Award, and The Norman E. O’Neal Religious Education Award for excellence in his minor studies. In 2000, he earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.
As Vice President, Matt works closely with clients to create detailed financial plans and investment analyses. His responsibilities include developing investment strategies, preparing retirement solutions, evaluating financial planning scenarios, addressing estate planning needs, conducting regular portfolio reviews, and collaborating with clients to help them reach their financial goals. Additionally, Matt serves as the firm’s main contact for qualified business retirement plans, and you will sometimes find him off-site conducting enrollment meetings and providing employee education for business clients.
Originally from Jackson, MS, Matt now resides in Clinton with his wife, Paula Barkley, from Meridian, MS. They have two children: Peyton, a student at Mississippi College who enjoys church worship and leadership activities as well as college baseball; and Kellan, who is also active in church and plays soccer with Mississippi Rush United and Clinton High School. Kellan is currently a Senior, exploring opportunities in architecture.
Outside of work, Matt serves as a deacon at Morrison Heights Baptist Church. He remains passionate about soccer, enjoys the outdoors, and taking pictures for various sports teams. One of his favorite weekly activities is hosting 4x4 groups, where he encourages young men to mentor their peers. Matt has a keen interest in photography and enjoys traveling as well as the occasional venture into graphic design projects.
